Our Story

I started kiln because I wanted to still smell like me. 

After my kids were born, the perfumes I'd previously worn started to feel wrong. Too strong and too sweet. Too much for the two little people who were always on my chest, my hip, my shoulder. I didn't want to stop wearing fragrance, I just wanted something quieter.

I couldn't find what I was looking for, so I made it.

kiln is perfume oil - not spray. There's no alcohol, no cloud. It goes on your skin and stays close, without filling the room. It develops with your warmth, which means it smells a little different on everyone. Every scent is ours - blended from scratch, not copied from anywhere. Once it's on your skin, it becomes yours.

I blend everything by hand in Auckland, in small batches. Organic jojoba, essential oils, and where a natural option doesn't exist or doesn't perform, a fragrance compound I trust. Nothing hidden, nothing unnecessary.
